Documentation

Integrate in an afternoon.

Four SDKs, one REST API and webhooks for every event. The sample below creates a payment with the JavaScript SDK.

01 — Sample

Create a payment.

payments.createJavaScript
import { Varden } from "@varden/js";const client = new Varden({ apiKey: "sk_test_4f8a…" });const payment = await client.payments.create({  amount: 4900,            // minor units: €49.00  currency: "EUR",  customer: { email: "[email protected]", country: "DE" },  capture: "automatic",});console.log(payment.id, payment.status); // "pay_…" "authorized"

Amounts are expressed in minor units. Test keys start with sk_test_; nothing created with them is settled.

02 — Contents

Six sections.

The full documentation is provided to each account on opening. The sections below describe what it covers.

  1. Section 01

    Getting started

Account setup, test and live keys, your first test transaction. Most integrations complete this step within the hour.

  2. Section 02

    API reference

REST endpoints for payments, customers, refunds, disputes and payouts, with request and response schemas.

  3. Section 03

    SDKs

Official libraries for JavaScript, Python, PHP and Ruby, with the same method names across all four.

  4. Section 04

    Guides

Multi-currency pricing, tax calculation at checkout, plugin installation for commerce platforms.

  5. Section 05

    Webhooks

Event types, signature verification, retries and idempotency for payment and payout events.

  6. Section 06

    Best practices

Error handling, fraud-screening thresholds, dispute evidence and key rotation.
