Acceptable use policy
What may and may not be sold or done through the VARDEN platform. This policy is part of the terms of service.
1. Principle
The platform may be used only for the lawful sale of goods and services declared at account opening. Our payment partners and the card networks impose their own restrictions, which also apply. Where we or a partner identify a prohibited activity, the account may be suspended or closed and funds may be held during the review.
2. Prohibited activities
- Any activity that is illegal in the country of the merchant or of the customer.
- Sale of counterfeit goods or goods infringing intellectual property rights.
- Unlicensed sale of regulated products such as weapons, pharmaceuticals or tobacco.
- Unlicensed gambling, lotteries or games of chance.
- Content that is unlawful, defamatory or that exploits or harms minors.
- Pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick schemes and deceptive subscription practices.
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion or cash advances.
- Processing transactions on behalf of a third party not declared on the account.
3. Restricted activities
Some activities require prior written approval from us and from the relevant payment partner before an account can process them. They include travel services, event ticketing, financial and investment services, telemarketing, adult content, and any activity subject to a card network registration programme.
4. Technical use
- Do not attempt to access accounts, keys or data that are not yours.
- Do not use the API in a way that disrupts the platform or other merchants.
- Do not submit transactions you know to be fraudulent or unauthorised.
- Do not store full card numbers or security codes on your own systems.
5. Reporting
If you believe an activity on the platform breaches this policy, write to [email protected]. Reports are reviewed within one business day.
6. Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in law or in partner requirements. The current version is always published on this page.
